Course Overview

Topic: People & Physical Security requirements of the US Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program. Description: The course provides training on Physical Security, Physical Access Controls, Personnel Security, and Education, Training, and Awareness sections of the Minimum Security Criteria (MSC 9-12). This will include the requirements of each MSC and how to identify and address deviations from associated standards. Participants will learn more about the CTPAT requirements and the evidence needed to confidently demonstrate compliance with facility security criteria. The course will cover the following: Physical Security: security technology, CCTVs, controlled access points, perimeter security, and preventing unauthorized access from cargo handling facilities. Physical Access Controls: access control technologies, visitor management, employee access protocols, incident response, and procedures for issuing, managing, and revoking access credentials. Personnel Security: effective hiring practices, background checks, employee vetting, employee identification, termination procedures, and ongoing monitoring.
